Psychological evaluations for ADHD, Autism, and Complex Mental Health Conditions
You may feel like something is different about you. That’s okay!
Most of my clients come in recognizing that they think, feel, or behave differently than others. They may struggle socially, wonder if they are overly sensitive, or feel they have to work really hard to function in the world. Many have been hiding or masking these feelings for years.
It is my passion to work with teenagers and adults (ages 16 and up) to better understand and accept themselves. This process of self-discovery can help you to:
Embrace your differences while learning how to work with them
Assist you in advocating for yourself in academic, work and social settings
Identify areas in which you may need more support or treatment
You’re ready to be seen and understood
more fully.
HOW DO I CHOOSE WHO SHOULD EVALUATE ME?
You may have already done a lot of research about your symptoms and even have a specific diagnosis that you are wondering about. A good psychological evaluation will not just answer the question, “Do I have X diagnosis?” Instead, it will provide a comprehensive look at all of the factors that may contribute to the difficulties you are experiencing, and give an explanation that leads you to a better, more positive sense of yourself. An experienced Licensed Clinical Psychologist like Dr. Linker is trained to identify or rule out the impact of trauma, stress, stage of life, cultural factors, physical conditions, or other disorders that may be contributing to your symptoms. Dr. Linker will use objective measures and her clinical expertise to compassionately help you understand your difficulties, with recommendations to help you move forward.
Frequently asked questions about Evaluations
FAQs
-
First, Dr. Linker will get an understanding of what problems you are experiencing or what questions you want the evaluation to answer. From there, she will develop an individualized evaluation plan that will include the use of questionnaires, clinical interview, and testing and/or observations. Most evaluations are conducted in person, but virtual evaluations are an option. If you give permission, Dr. Linker may ask a family member, partner, or friend to fill out a questionnaire in order to add another perspective. Once all of the information is gathered, Dr. Linker will compile a comprehensive, individualized report, with a diagnosis (as appropriate) and recommendations. This will be your report to provide to your treatment providers, employers, or school accommodations office. It is your choice who you share your information with. Dr. Linker will also meet with you to review the results of your evaluation and answer any questions that you may have. This process usually takes about one month to complete.

Evaluations usually cost between $1400-1800. Rates are dependent on the complexity of the evaluation.
Full payment is due the day of the evaluation appointment. Dr. Linker does not accept insurance. Some insurances will partially reimburse clients for out of network services, and Dr. Linker can provide a "superbill" that they would require. It's a good idea to call them first to see if they will reimburse for testing "out of network."
